Roast Score

Esperanza Coffee Imports strives to bridge the gap between coffee producers and coffee roasters to forge stronger more transparent relationships which will result in a better-balanced value transfer throughout the coffee supply chain.

In the heart of the Antigua Guatemala valley, Beneficio La Esperanza, a wet mill built in 1983, is the center of the group’s coffee sourcing operation. It has become synonymous with honesty and good service within the community of coffee growers in central Guatemala, and as such, has maintained great relationships with many producers of different regions. These coffee producing families enjoy the reliability of a place they can deliver their crops every season while getting a fair price for their efforts.

Originally built as a large-scale commercial mill, it has since been outfitted to process smaller lots, allowing La Esperanza to offer a wider array of coffee qualities to its customers. The mill employs a private fleet of vehicles to collect cherry coffee directly from the farms on a daily basis during the harvest, which is a very convenient service for the producer, that also ensures great traceability for the resulting coffee lots. Every day during the harvest becomes a specific lot for every different region, farm or varietal that is being singled out at that time, and every daily lot will be cared for meticulously to create the best quality possible. These daily lots, once cupped and classified, will be designated to be used in high quality regional blends, or as specific farm or varietal microlots, intended to fulfill the specialty roaster’s needs andexpectations.

For a long time the mill served a long standing coffee exporter known as CAMEC, which gave it a very good reputation in the industry, and today, Beneficio La Esperanza stands tall as both a trusted exporter and a steadfast supporter of coffee producers. Providing them with a sustainable outlet for their exceptional harvests, ensuring they receive a fair return for their hard work and dedication.
